About CAIX

Cairo Internet Exchange Point (CAIX) established in Q2 2002 by Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) with only two Internet Service Providers (ISPs). Today CAIX is running by National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA).  CAIX mission is to connect all licensed ISPs (Class A and Class B) in Egypt to exchange the local traffic inside Egypt and safe their international bandwidth.
CAIX switch connects the whole working ISPs in Egypt via multiple of giga fiber interfaces and supports IPv4 and IPv6 traffics.
In addition to the licensed ISPs, CAIX switch is connected to PCH (www.pch.net) Anycast servers, which have copies of 116 ccTLDs , 242 gTLD and two root name servers.
